Sivlen, Buccat share top honors in ‘Ride to End Polio’ time trial

Jhaylord Sivlen and Johnrey Buccat negotiated the uphill Kennon Road with ease clocking 1:18:56 and 1:09:36 in topping the King of the Mountain: Ride to End Polio Time Trial for a Cause on Sunday, November 7.

Sivlen topped the Mountain Bike (MTB) junior category while Buccat bagged the top honors in the 19 – 34 years old Road Bike (RB) elite division in the 28.3-kilometer uphill race spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Downtown Session.

In the distaff side, Alyssa Tade meanwhile topped the female MTB Elite (19-34) with a time of 1:50:14.394 while Eisset Liwag bested others in winning the Female RB Masters A (35-44) with a time of 1:39:13.509 in the race sanctioned by PhilCycling.

The event is a team and individual time trial race which aims to donate part of its proceeds to charity.

Topping their respective age groups meanwhile are Gideon Mayet-An (MTB Elite, 19-34), Robeno Javier Robeno (MTB Master A, 35-44), Jessie Magat (MTB Master B, 45-54), and Noel Pelecano (MTB Master C, 55 and above).

Also topping their age groups are Karl Andrei Realiza Basto (MTB Youth, 16 and below), John Paul Male Laurita (RB Junior, 17-18), Albert Ong (RB Master A, 35-44), Raul Gaerlan (RB Master B, 45-54) Kenneth Del Rosario (RB Master C, 55 and above) and Travis Almeda (RB Youth, 16 and below)

In the female category, bagging the top podium are Donna Marie Cayago (MTB Masters A, 35-44), Anabelle Salva (MTB Masters B, 45-54), Erica Maive Bulatao (RB Junior, 17-18), Marvie Fulgencio (RB Masters B, 45-54 and Aezra Liporada(RB Youth, 16 and below).

Some 200 bikers registered and finished the ride for a cause which fired off bikers at Camp 1 in Tuba, Benguet and ended at the Loakan Airport in Baguio City. SCORE
