Bagging eight gold medals including 16 silvers and five bronze, Team Lakay Central Gym took the over-all title during the 34th Lakay Grappler's Cup as part of Benguet's Martial Arts Festival at the Benguet Provincial Capitol.

Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Jean Claude Saclag led TLCG’s onslaught in the mat by topping the 65-71 kilograms division edging Adonis Sevillano and Denver Songaben who both settled for silver and bronze during the contest.

Adding gold for TLCG is Carlos Alvarez who topped the 77 kgs division after scoring wins against Joris Jonker and Fhairoz Khan for the silver and bronze.

Jonker however won’t be denied of the gold medal after scoring a footlock against Denver Songaben during the championship match in the absolute division even as Alvarez, who earlier won a gold, settled for a bronze.

Also bagging the gold medal for TLCG are Diomel Ghryne Bonoy, Ralph Cervantes, Chad Mayos, Gamber Angcaway, and Estrada Donga-as.

Coming in second in the over-all standings is Ronin with five gold medals courtesy of Keith Diong-an, Climpson Piluden, Daryl Marcelino , Ross Danao, and Hideshiko Nozano while the team also took home a silver.

Team Lakay Training Center meanwhile settled for third place after snatching four gold medals from Ronald Ermo, Arvinson Balanoy , Jhoezelle Sagayao, and Leomar Odanos. TLTC also bagged one silver and a bronze in the one day tournament.

YMCA meanwhile won three gold medals coming from Zhaijan Corpuz , Gael Alberto , and Thai Andro Cudao.

Participating teams who won at least one gold are University of the Cordilleras who also took home one silver and one bronze, Team Lakay San Fernando with their one bronze medal and Maharlika.

Matzone and Gridlock went home with one silver and one bronze respectively.

A special award was given to Denver Songaban of TLCG for having the best and fastest finish during the competition. RDO
