THREE – year layoff maybe too long for boxers.

But not for Carlo Magali whose jab and hooks remain crisp while sparring with Reymond Yanong at the Highland Boxing Gym in La Trinidad, Benguet.

Magali will be up to a daunting task as he gears up against the hottest Filipino super featherweight fighter and a former Olympian next month.

Magali (25-13-3 win-loss-draw) hopes to rely on his vaster experience when he faces Charly Suarez on October 23 at the Elorde Gym in Sucat, Paranaque.

“I think experience will be my advantage, said Magali during his workout and sparring against a bigger and heavier opponent Reymond Yanong at the Highland Gym here Tuesday.

Magali will be the 13th opponent of the 2016 Olympics veteran Suarez whose last fight was Mark John Yap who fell twice to the Benguet based fighter.

Magali said that he had been training for four months now in his preparation against the former Philippine team member who he describes as good.

“I just check out the boys before I go fly to Bangkok, Thailand tomorrow night,” said manager and Highland Boxing Promotions owner Brico Santig.

“Magali has chosen to stay here in Trinidad and has been here for more than 10 years and married to a local,” said Santig, who has a gym in Bangkok as well as in Dubai. RDO
